The scoop on the car when it was white was the original molded in scoop from Contemporary. That was cut off the car, the opening glassed in, and correct offset oval hole cut into the hood. Then the Kirkham scoop was painted separately and riveted onto the hood. Any pictures you see with the car painted blue is the Kirkham scoop. I don't know if I have any pictures of the painted car in my gallery. If not, look on the build thread I started in the Contemporary section of Club Cobra. I was in disbelief at how terribly the scoop I got from Cobra Restorers fit, it could have been made for a Torino for all I know. Just for the record, I have bought many items from Cobra Restorers and have never had a problem with them. It's just with the hood scoop incident that they kind of disappointed me.
The scoop I got from Kirkham fit like it was custom made for my hood. It laid right onto the hood, and you couldn't have slipped a feeler gauge under it at any point around the periphery. It really did fit perfectly, and like everything else that the Kirkham's make and sell, it has the quality of a Swiss watch. It 'ain't cheap at $300 or so, but you get what you pay for. If you need better pictures let me know and I'll get some emailed to you.
