I know Gardner Douglas.
I'm not fan of 427 anymore although their body shape is more like as AC 289 sports Mk3.
I prefer fastback instead of regular shaped hardtop.
Gullwing is practical solution, but look funny to me.

Its quite likely you are already familiar with Gardner Douglas (correct spelling) but if not, check out their website - you may find their backbone chassis and body mounting system interesting.
