Impressive and a great speech by David. Nothing could be more entrepreneurial than building your own cars, whether a manufacturer like the Kirkhams, Portantes, Smiths, et al. or each member of this forum that invests so many hours in building their own ride. While many of us have periodically needed a little advice (as furnished by other members of this forum) to get the job done, I have never seen anyone ask for a bailout.
The economic environment that makes entrepreneurism in America possible is under seige. We all know it. Freedom, entrepreneurism, and capitalism are all necesary to make it work. Lose any component and what America stands begins to pale. Hopefully, more events like this are just a beginning. I am already planning on Chicago in July if it unfolds. Entrepreneurs and small business owners are waking up to what is truly at stake here.....their continued existence and a nation of opportunity for their children and grandchildren. Just as America's entrepreneurs have the right to succeed, they must also have the right to fail. A true entrepreneur will pick himself up, dust himself off, and try again, learning from his mistakes. Now, if we could just get that "rattler" on the Minuteman / Gadsden flags to look more like a Cobra.
