going from a crate motor to a 9.2 with yates heads which prob has the raised exhaust port would probably be similiar in height. just switch the flange out for a yates pattern at a good header shop.
may be able to weld the yates flange to the current flange and make modifications or cut portions of the old flange away, though this would move the headers out the thickness of the flange, but then use rtv instead of exhaust gasket and that goes away.
