i would buy a few extra and experiment to get a feel how they work and would also buy the pin removal tool, i don't have it and wish i did, still.
i use the same tool you show, you don't need the ratcheting style, just use your common sense. don't believe you need the solder.
cut off just enough insulator that the wire hits the insert stop on the pin and don't use the killer crimp when you put the rubber grommet on. what worked for me was after crimping the wire, the pliers would flip 180* and the larger crimp would be used for the weather seal.
a few of the crimps don't come out because the pin tabs would break or crush wrong.
