I tell everyone that this is a taxi motor.
I started with a block from the early 70's that I got for free. I have a friend that is an engine builder so he put some good used parts aside for me including a Comp cam, lifters, and a set of Wisco pistons. I added a set of Ford "M" stock car heads with Ford roller rockers, an Edelbrock dual plane intake, and a 750 Holley. The engine was professionally built and dynoed at 472 HP and 442 or 444 lbs of torque using my own carb and a set of mufflers.
The surprising thing about this engine is the sound. Even the engine builder can't understand why it has the sound that it does. I think that it is a combination of the cam he used and the "M" heads.
