Back in 1964 my mom was driving a rural mail route in southwest Kansas, 94 miles a day. She ordered a Ford Fairlane, sky blue on the bottom with a white top, for the mail route car. It never needed A/C (thank goodness!, as she didn't order A/C on this car and it gets really HOT in SW Kansas during the summer). The white top reflected the sun's rays and kept the car's interior cool. Might this be a more acceptable answer to this issue???
This was a special order option from Ford, I notice you don't see two-toned cars coming from the manufacturers these days
