That has been the same problem with CR's from day -one. Venting is the problem, filer cap is actually made for a boat with an external vent system while the CR vent is just below the fill neck using the same tube for air as well as filling. The Lemans type cap will usually fix the problem.

The only other solution is not a solution at all really, but simply put the gas in very slow........

Remember the Vapor cannisters of yesteday on, at that time, modern cars? I was always going to disconnect the vent line from the fuel filler neck, run the hose up as high as I could get it then run it to a vapor cannister?? Never did-failed once and it would be ruined.
