Here is what I was asking my local wrecking yards for. I struck out so maybe others here on CC will ping on the wrecking yards in there area for you to find a unit.

This is what I searched for =
"I need a 5 speed 016 trans axle. From maybe a 1983 - 1987 Audi 5000 but not the Quarto. Number on top of the bellhousing must be a 3UXXXXXXX, or 5Nxxxxxx or a AAZxxxxx. desired in this order."

Can you find one in your backyard?
