I updated the Pull it thread here is the update on the push rod-stud problem.

After reading all the tips and searching the INTERNET. I bought harden push rods (stock length) like I should have. New ARP studs. Kept the stamped steel guides.

I reassembled the heads with the new studs. As I snugged down the studs I centered the rockers on the valve stems adjusting the guides. I rotated the engine over with felt marker color on the stem. Now the rockers are centered. I didn't realize that the guides holes that the studs go thru are over sized and adjustment are made by loosing the studs and re-torquing.

Over the weekend I've run some 50 miles and all looks good. I pulled the valve covers and no wear on the push rods.

I hope this help someone who might have the same issues.
