f16n........."double pass" has nothing to do with the air passing through the cooling fins of the radiator its the coolant that flows in through the upper fitting passes through the tubes to one side then it drops down the tank on the other side then flows back through to the other side of the radiator through the tubes and back out through the other fitting. The fin count in the core can be as little as 8 fins to the inch or as much as 18 fins to the inch which means that the higher the fin count the better the cooling . Most "double pass" radiators have both fittings on the same side...hope this helps.
