230-240 just piddlin' around town?? If you're not experiencing any overheating issues with the coolant, and your engine bay doesn't feel like a blast furnace when you open the hood, I would suspect your gauge is wrong, as Rick L. mentioned. Shoot it with an infrared gun at different spots and see what kind of numbers you get. 240 for around town driving is really, really hot.
