Statically, Sept. is not a great month. The record rainfall totals vary from .05" to 5.95". I've lived here all my life (54 years). Sept. can be beautiful or it can be terrible. It's the luck of the draw. I've seen them very warm throughout the month and I've seen it start to rain on Labor Day and not stop for months. However, typically, Sept. starts out fairly nice and by the 2nd or 3rd week, temps, drop and the rain starts. The only way I would consider the CH1 would be with a trailer. As far as weather goes, it can be foggy, rainy and cool in Monterey that time of year as well.
