As part of the 2009 stimulus package not only do I have to offer COBRA to anyone leaving the company (no big deal but the paperwork is a pain), now I have to pay 65% of the cost for the first 9 months.
This of course is on top of the 50% of unemployment payments for up to 18 months.
If I didn't provide insurance to my employees I don't have to pay anything.
