Wayne, my FE sits untouched from Thanksgiving to Easter, then what I do is crank the engine for about ten seconds with the ignition disabled. That builds up the
oil pressure and fills the carb bowls. I then enable the ignition, crank it, and it fires right up. All of this with a mechanical fuel pump. Don't go with an electric just for the "immediate fire up" business -- it's not a big deal.
