I don't know, that could be debated like the BB vs. SB.......All the cars I've had over the years (mostly Mustangs) were front sump pans,couldn't use a rear sump if I wanted.....

BTW: I've only used Canton road race pans with the built-in crankshaft scraper and windage tray and in the bottom they have the four spring loaded "trap doors" to keep the oil where the pickup is....I would think any road race type pan with these features would serve you well, regardless of brand.....
