Not an authoritative response but I was of the understanding that huggers did take some sting out of the performance.
Obviously any extra restriction in exhaust will do this however I can't say whether its a 5% or 50% change.
Also Damo think about the remainder of your exhaust as when you do upgrade the headers you will need to change at least part of your downstream exhaust too.

Huggers are literally that, exhaust manifolds that hug the block ie compact.
