I should have been clearer in my post. I wasn't at a state authorized inspection station for a safety check. I was being inspected by the state so that they could assign a VIN. After receiving a ViN I would be able to register the car and then have it safety inspected.
The officer doing the inspection acknowledged that there was a provision in the law for replicas. The requirment is for the replica to have the same and meet the same safety requirments as the original. When he denied the me the VIN because my car had racing quick jack brackets and unsheilded sidepipes. He refered me to the code for current vehicles, not replicas. As I said he took pictures and is to let me tomorrow if his supervisor will pass my car. I was just wondering from other New Hampshire Cobra owners if they had problems with these two items. Thanks for the input, John
