Allowing the workers, that actually do the work, to negotiate their wages (union) is an important part of free market, the guys doing the actual work therefore charging what the market will bear. I am glad we are all on the same page regarding free market.
Besides, the UAW only accounts for 10% of the cost of a GM vehicle (apparently undisputed). If they worked for half price, something none of us would be willing to do, GM would only save 5%. So they don't.
The overall company flounders, not even slightly the fault of the diligent workers of course, and all are without a job. The free market triumphs again as the idiot overpaid sales force was unable to sell their supreme efforts because the market won't bear it.
The workers will now have to hire new management to lead them, even if it is a liberal political leader. So they elect one. The Lord works in mysterious ways, and since we (Americans) were blessed for eight years in a row, I think HE mysteriously did it.
What, then, is the problem? If everyone starts to buy GM cars everything is fine. If they don't, the liberal politician will be fired in four years. Apparently the country cannot be harmed during this brief time.
Anything else would be illogical. Live long and prosper. And pay taxes.
(Just went to StarTrek last night, it was good)
