I am ready to get the paper work on my car.
can anyone tell me how much will it cost to register the car and inspect it.
I have the MSO, I know someone who did not have the MSO and titled the car in a nother state and all he needs to do now is get NJ plates.
It cost him about $300. Is it easier to do it the way he did it?

Thanks for your help.
HHHHHHmmmmmmm, a Cobra in Denville, who would have thought .

As for your question, the days of olde where you could use an out of state title service to get around paying your fair share of taxes to the fine folks in Trenton are long gone. NJMVS is hip to all of the title companies that offer you "vintage" titles for just a few dollars. Attempt to pull the wool over their eyes now and your risk not only a hefty fine, but the forfeiture of your new roadster.

So, for now I shall point you towards the proper (and only way to do so from scratch these days) way to title your car
http://www.state.nj.us/mvc/Vehicle/SpecialVehicles.htm

Call (888) 486-3339 and ask for the "kit car package", follow the instructions to the letter. When all is in order, request a date at the Morristown specialty inspection station (the old DMV inspection station just off Ridgedale Ave) and you'll be good to go.

Hope you find this helpful.
