The plug could be pulled far too early on someone that has a real chance to recover OR someone can be kept alive long after they should have been allowed to pass away. The problem is trying to figure out just where in between, is right. There is probably no easy answer as in many cases it is a personal or family decision. On the other hand, the actual topic is that the government in America proposes to step in to make that decision by basically withdrawing services in favor of a painkiller - just allow the person to die as they will die anyway - the government - not the patient or the family.
