thanks for the kind words, it is not quite finished yet. I have to mount the alum body and add all the chrome, then paint this winter.
hello 3170, my dad did have a 289 & 427 cobra for a while, although not officially. the owner of the 427 lived in ohio and did not have enough money for all the work my dad did to the car. so he told my dad to keep it or sell it for him to pay his bill. we could not afford to keep both so the 427 was sold to a guy in daytona beach florida, he came to our house with a plastic trash full of money and it made a huge pile on our dining room table. the car was loaded into a big truck and was gone to florida.
the 289 cobra CSX2498 was not raced in autox at that time. my dad was building engines for Hal Keck's CSX3008 and Jim Sypherd's R Model GT-350 from approx. '68 - '71. CSX2498 was just the regular street car.
our friend Butch Fryer had a 289 cobra and he raced the autox in SE Penna area. His car was white, I will ask what the serial number was on his car.
