Yes, the batteries are (will be) for the cart. There are 6 -6 volts in the cart. If you have ever seen a Trojan battery you would remember it. (I think) They are sort of red, burgundy in color and have Trojan written all over them. There is no doubt what they are.
I have spoken to several of the cart companies around here. Some say Trojans are the Rolls Royce of cart batteries, while others say the Interstate equivalent are better. Others yet still say the NAPA 8144 is even better. So, who is right?
Honestly, I think is is like Cobras. Some like the big block, some like the small block. I think it is a matter of opinion, or which ones the Cart company happens to sell.
I am really trying to do my homework here, because they are so expensive to buy all 6 at one time.
Yamaha, the cart manufacturer, does not recommend a particular brand, but rather the necessary specs. That is understandable if you look at the big picture.
I also agree with you that proper maintenance will help them to last a good long time.
