I'd be very interested to know what modification is needed also.... Just a few weeks ago I rebuilt a 1984 351-W for my niece's husband and we went from the original reverse rotation water pump to an older model "standard" pump for V-belts, no mods needed, bolted right on, works perfectly...............everything bolted right up,timing chain cover, water pump, and brackets....There should be no difference in the block externally, the only difference I've seen in the timing chain cover would be the timing pointer location on some models. Some are on the passenger side (older models) and most newer models have the pointer on the drivers side...You just have to put it on the side that lines up with the harmonic damper and the damper you use will determine which side to locate the pointer on.
