I put the Moroso 3.5qt unit in mine as well with no solenoid. Works fine but if you get a solenoid type it will maintain pressure in the accumulator which then allows pre-lub before you start engine.
With my type the
oil pressure equalizes throughout
oil system when engine if off as the pressure is not trapped in accum. because no solenoid to close accum. outlet to engine etc.
