Well,I know that the 1985 5.0 timing cover will bolt right up to a '71 351,and so will the water pump. That's what I did when swapping a 351 into my 1985 5.0 LX.
I did upgrade to a Stewart HD water pump,which uses a larger shaft and the 460 pump impeller,and is reverse rotation.
