How can the average person or persons ever attempted to compete with that kind of leverage, the founding fathers NEVER envisioned this kind of corporate tyranny, by law they were dissolved every 2 years in the time of the founding fathers, and if they were found to not benefit the nation they lost their corporate status. I do not object to corporations making a profit, it is what they are supposed to do, I object to their influence and the sneaky way they convince dumber then Joe the plumber types to vote against their own best interest using ginned up firms to sell snake oil to the public. They should have no say in politics, just as religions should have no say in politics it should be in the best interest of the people not the corporations, not any one religion, no ware in the constitution does it say either should have any influence.
Our Founding Fathers were fearful of government tyranny, they gave us the Bill of Rights to protect the people from the government, that is certainly valid fear today as we face a government that seems to believes it is answer to issue we face.
Your argument about the Constitution not saying anything about corporate, or religious influence shows the weakness of your position and your ignorance of history. You are trying to make an argument of silence, just because nothing is said does not prove your point. Your trying to make a point from nothing. The constitution is the limitation of Federal government, not the citizens.
In every instance when you mention corporation, you could say government, I much more concerned about the tyranny of government then a corporation.
Who should influence the government? The unemployed and atheist! Most of our Founding Fathers were dedicated Christians, I can give direct quotes if you wish.Geo Washington,John Adams,Samuel Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Benjamin Rush, John Jay,John Hancock,Patrick Henry,John Witherspoon, to name a few. To think we should not influence policy because we are religious is absurd. Your thinking would fit perfectly in in the old USSR, they didn't want religious influence and the government was the cure all, but oh yea they collapsed, because their system doesn't work and it wont work here either.
Now answer this for me. I have mentioned to you before that I have had health problems and have not been able to work for over a year and a half. I should be able to get disability, I certainly qualify, but the government in all its great compassion has said no, twice. Now you want me to let them have control of my health insurance, why should I trust them to do any better.
