The answers are so all-over-the-board, it's confusing. And, going all the way back to the beginning of the thread, I mostly wanted a better sounding Cobra.
The extra HP was just a bonus. Now,I just want the carb to match the exhaust. If it does now, I'm happy.

The Pro-Systems carb is the best that I had between three that have been on the 427R in the Superformance. The other two carbs were the original 750 mechandical secondary Holley that came on the engine. The installer jacked that one up pretty good and it was way out of wack. The dealer thought the Holley Avenger 870 would be a good choise. THat one was fine if you like tons of lag when you nail it and less HP. I think it would be nice for an RV or pulling boat trailers though. I then called Pro-Systems and asked for the fastest carb with the best throtle responce. I got it in the form of the 1040 cfm mechanical secondary unit. He asked my zip code to look up weather for tuning the carb on the application. I got it, bolted it on and drove. It put a grin on my face from ear to ear. It's the fastest responding form any rpm, fastest in general, cruises at 1800 rpm in .64 5th gear on 28 inch tall tires with 3.73 rear gear and fricken hammers at the strip. Flat out it rocks! I also bought another carb from Pro-Systems for good milage and to be really street friendly. It never made it on the car because the faster carb works so fantastic.
