On the post-731 chassis we've gone to hard lines (with short pieces of hose as connectors in certain places). The reason for the hard lines is we've moved the reservoir(s) to the driver's side wheelwell so the lines are run fairly close to the exhaust pipes. Rubber (or urethane) wouldn't stand up very well.
