Sounds like your "small semi-exotic car dealership in Pheonix" or the dealer they used did a dodgy fit to me... If you have evidence (receipt) that it was an SPF dealer that fitted an incorrect SPF part, I'd go back to them and hold them accountable...I'm sure that SPF themselves would like to know that they have my have a dealer that's not representing the company appropriately.
I agree, it looks to me that your best bet is buy a windshield frame and glass from a SPF dealer and have them install the lot...
I think to judge and then post on a forum your criticism for the entire SPF company is a bit over the top Romm. Just go to a well know SPF dealer and get them to fix your problem.
