Are you running an MSD ... they are very sensitive to low voltage . You mentioned the PV being new .... doesn`t mean it isn`t bad as I just went through that . You might try replacing them after reading the plugs .

Plugs all looked good except one. All were light brown/tan except one that was a little darker but still not fouled looking. I was running a stock dist. with a pertronix unit in it but I'm in the process of putting in a new pertronix distributor right now. I also replaced the stock yellow top Ford coil with a new pertronix coil. Plugs are gapped at .032-.035
