Default Choosing a dyno tuner

I have multiport EFI with a Ford EEC4 controller.

I was talking with a dyno tuner that I have heard good things about. I told him my O2 sensors are in a single tube about a foot from the heads. He wanted me to move them to the collector. I explained that with the side pipes that would be 3+ feet from the heads. He thought that would still be worth trying. I told him that most things I have read says that is too far and the single tube is the better option. He said he was willing to try the single tube, but he has had several engines that it didn't work very well on. He suggested setting it up to run open loop all the time, but would try the single tube first.

Should I continue to look for a different tuner, or is he making good sense?
