The big bore option, if I remember correctly, was an extra $500, so after spending what I spent on the engine (let alone the car), the extra $500 would have been a rounding error in the big scheme of things.

I chose the 482 because I felt warm and fuzzy about having an extra 0.125" around those cylinders and the aluminum block. Aluminum expands and dissipates heat enough already and I was just a little nervous with boring the block out bigger.
