Cost to paint? Mine only has a single colour base-coat/clear coat on it and the cost was a little over $500.

$500 to a friend who did the body prep and primer work

24 flat of beer to a professional painter who did it on the weekend in a proper spray booth

free paint as I agreed to show the car at an autoparts show to help promote the brand of paint

re-assembly....my time, so "free"

I'm sure I could have the same job done today for under $5K at a professional shop, but I could be wrong. But not 200% wrong.
