BTW, do like suggested. Disconnect the rod from the carb, put the pedal to the floor and carb at wot and adjust the rod just short of bottoming out the carb linkage. Then put the carb linkage back to idle and pull the pedal up and see where it is. Which hole on the carb linkage are you using?

My carb linkage is connected to the lower front hole. I just did a test and with the pedal on the floor, the carb hits WOT just short of bottoming out.
So, it sounds like I need to work with the two primary adjusting rods to see if I can lower the pedal height while maintaining the upper and lower limits.
Are you guys running a spring on the pedal? My car has a spring on the pedal , but it's my understanding that some people don't use it (they just rely on a double carb spring).
