Default Shocks

I'm in the process of building my car & have pics of both the 6" & 5" stroke
mounted on the frame. CR had my shocks on back order when they went out of business so I contacted Jim Bailey at Pro-Shocks & he went through the paperwork & found what Don was ordering. He was a ordering 6" stroke shock with a 11" 275" spring (this is for the rear, the front is fine) My part #may be different because I have the new adjustable shocks.
Initial set-up the top mount was moved down 2", spacers & gussets were
fabed-up & welded on. After a base ride height was set with the body on we (we meaning me & my neighbor Joe who has a lot of experience building custom cars) noticed that the rear end was too high with only about a 1" of threads below the adjuster ring. After removing the body, at this base height the shock was too far down in the stroke to be effective. After a convesation
with Jim Bailey at Pro-shock We agreed that the 5" stroke shock might work better. So with it mounted & some standing on the frame testing to simulate
body & fuel (Joe is 220#I'm 175#) We did the stand on test with both shocks & the 5" shock felt the most functional I think this a good direction for my situation. Again I have pictures if anyone interested.
