Here's a tip on the speedometer needle bouncing. Shorten the little tip on the transmission end of the cable by 1/8" - 3/16". My speedometer stopped working recently and when I did some trouble shooting, I found the entire tip end had broken off at the transmission end. I replaced the cable, shortened the tip as described above and my speedometer is rock solid. Prior to the "
fix" and before it stopped working, it was a bouncer, especially at speeds above 40 mph.
