Free Road Atlanta Admission
[I know all of us work on Tuesdays/Wednesdays - but wanted to put a reminder out there for those that thought it would be interesting]
Road Atlanta will open its gates with free admission for spectators
for two days of testing by the sports cars of the American Le Mans
Series on Tuesday and Wednesday, May 27-28.
Approximately 15 to 20 cars will participate in the testing sessions
as they prepare for the June 27-29 Atlanta Grand Prix, the next race for the American Le Mans Series. Cars will be on the 2.54-mile, 12-turn road racing circuit from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. both days, with a one-hour lunch break each day at 1:30 p.m.
Among the cars expected to take part in the testing session are a pair of Lola-MG Prototypes from Dyson Racing, as well as the two-car factory Chevrolet Corvette team. Johnny O'Connell of Flowery Branch, Ga., drives for the Corvette team and will be seeking his third consecutive win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans next month.
The Atlanta Grand Prix is a new event on the Road Atlanta schedule for 2003 and makes the Hall County track the only racing circuit to hold two races for the American Le Mans Series this season. The series will end its season with the sixth annual Petit Le Mans Oct. 15-18. A special, discounted "Two Event Ticket," as well as separate tickets to both events, are currently available. Information is available online at www.roadatlanta.com or by calling 1-800-849-RACE (7223).

Clyde, I'll be there, just need to make sure the Willis 100 does not conflict, which it may a bit. Just guessing at this point. My home PC does not have full version of Outlook, so need to come back on this one.

Alex, it look's like I have a full day of work tomorrow. I do not think you need to bring the mule as I do not think the track will be crowded at all with it being a non-race and mid week. Even practice days for the Petite LeMans are not that bad. You should be able to drive your car/truck throughout the facility once inside and use that to go to various corners (hill at turn 5, skidpad at 6/7, bridge looking down at 10A/10B, and turn 3-4 are great places to watch. Mules are best when it is a zoo on race day or a big event. The $25 is a Road Atlanta fee for any "off-road" vehicles which receive a sticker saying you paid it.

There were only 4 teams on the track today, but more may show up.
TC, are you sure you can keep up with these guys ? They were flying ! I'm not doubting your word, but......
(last edited to make flagrantly misleading comment concerning TC).

I bought the old foot bridge that used to go over turn 1(cheap !).
I needed the 48' steel beams. Now I have to figure out how to get them into my neighborhood without alerting the neighbors to my little project......

Ahhh, finally picked up the beams at BlackForest!
John, go post your 2 cents, or more, on the Gasholes site under GT-40 topic that Tom Kirkham started. I am sure you could add valuable insight to the thread. It's the one I sent you last night.

I meant for the 29th for the mule. I can't get away this week I've been gone too much. Congrats on getting the AC Cobra on the drop down. My first guess it was the 'Alphretta' club cobra seeing as you set this up
