OK TC - sorry if I slighted you - it was actually a Cushman EAGLE with a beautiful rose pink paint job and lavender pinstripes. All the Harley guys were envious.
As to the ammeter, the Smiths are 50 amp and most alternators put out much more than that. May want to call Nisonger and see if there is any risk, or if they can adapt yours to higher current. Also check the harness - mine was a Painless and it split the alt output on two wires, one to battery and one to fuse panel. For the meter to be right, I would have to run both through it.

No worries J.O.. I have thick skin and enjoyed the joke The more I read, the more a voltmeter is better nowadays. But having a nice Lucas Ammeter not get used would be a shame. I have the guage wire figured out.

for any of you hooking up guages, the autometer.com has a great tech site and install sheets.

Judging by the fact he has a jacket on, it's somewhere a bit chilly I'd say.

John Owen,

That camera you had--it was digital wasn't it? Any pics to post? Also, what was it? A Canon EOS 1 or 10D? I was watching that show Paparazzi last night I am embarressed to say, but noticed the guy must have about $10,000 easily in camera and lense.

That's either a bid flounder or a big halibut. I'd say Alaska and a halibut.

The camera is a Canon EOS 1Ds, the camera and lens I had out there are about $9K. Chill does an excellent job reporting our adventures on the web, so I leave it to him. I do have a good printer that can take advantage of the resolution of the Canon, and my view cameras, so perhaps we should plan a group photo~party outing. Am willing to host, but depart for SAV early tomorrow. Roadster needs to stretch its legs. Let me know what you guys want to do.

I do have one picture at Krogles that includes the infamous scooter.

J.O.----you da man!!! that's the FFR 521 of cameras!!!!!!!!!! You must be into photography. I knew that rig looked extra fancy when I commented on it in the parking lot. Next time we meet, I am gonna pick your brain on photography a bit .

Alex, after seeing that those GreenLee kits are $165 for a set, we need to hook up. Tomorrow maybe?

Signed,

TC, 11 old cubic inches shy of J.O....without a decent camera

J.O.

Yikes your camera is worth more than my drivetrain, don't drop it.

I used to be into photography big time, dark room, mutiple SLR's and a ton of different lenses. I did mostly b&w stuff with different filters and textured paper. I still have all the camera gear somewhere around here. Wonder if Yashica camera's are worth any thing now I'd love to see the pictures you took.

Where is your house in Savannah ? I go down several times a month to check on one of my jobsites. We should hook up for dinner.

Randy

I was speaking to another member of ACC tonight. I am not ready to announce date yet due to lack of driveshaft for now, but I am thinking of an ACC party about 4 weeks from now to celebrate the coming together of this "non-club" and maybe the first heartbeat of my motor in the Kirkham. I assume Labor Day is not good (maybe nice to see if good/no good), but maybe itis good...'cause if you are like me, I hate to travel with the herd of sheep.

Default TC: Did you suggest...

that your building a 510 inch FE? Are you using DC's old engine and bumping the stroke out? That's huge if you are!

Cracker, it's all done through stroke. The block is only .020 over. Wildly offset ground 390 crank with custom pistons. The wrist pins are as high as the bottom oil ring
