HA! The only way I could hear it is if it was wired to my earhole. And, I don't believe I would be seen riding around wearing a leather flighter pilots helmet in my Cobra. It's not that MY car is loud .. but some of ya'lls exhaust note was cracking reverb off the buildings in town, scaring some small children.

Seriously .. I was thinking this morning about how loud my exhaust was until hearing some of y'alls. Then I come home and two of my neighbors approach me about giving them a wake-up this morning at 7:30am when I fired the car up and rolled it out the garage to warm up idle.

Do what I do and say, "Why you're welcome, don't mention it, glad to do it anytime, figured it was time for you to get your A$$ out of bed." "Now that you're up, wanna go for a ride?" Had drinks and cigars at the neighbor's last night, so it can't be all that bad.

Then if it gets nasty, mention if they don't shut up, you will start commuting in your Cobra...I think you mentioned you leave or wake up around 3:45AMish?

Enjoyed the time everyone! SVOBUD - nice meeting you as well. Randy's original plan sounds good and unless you changed your minds today would still be worth a try! Dillard house for an early dinner? Great seeing you all and be safe out there!

GS, I hope you got some work done, because you missed a good ride. We didn't actually follow your route.... and I could tell you we didn't so that you could lead us on YOUR trip some other time, but we just had several participants who needed to get back a bit sooner than the long route would allow.

We Met at Sonic in Cumming... 7 COBRAS!! a good turnout....

Made our plans...

..and set out North. We let my son John lead since it was his Birthday... and went blasting up rte 9.... 40 miles an hour....behind a white pickup, who actually saved us all from a speeding ticket since he was ahead of us as we crested a bump to see one of Dawsonville's finest.... Of course Bud would have saved us... right Bud? or at least he wouldn't have gotten a ticket...

We went up to 52 and made a stop to beautify an abandoned gas station near Amicoloa Falls (I mean beautify in the Cobra sense, not what ya'll did behind the shed....)

As people peeled off on the way back, Bud and I ended up at One Star for some BBQ and we called it a day.... and not so late as to cause marital strife.. We live to play another day!

Sounds like ya'll had a great time. I made the trip up to Riverstone late this afternoon but didn't see any other Cobras. Hopefully there will be a better turnout at the Austell show or maybe we can schedule another drive before then.

Chill, I visited Randy mid-afternoon. He got tons of work done He had gotten his car jacked up by the time I got there and I did see the fan belt removed I was on the Harley, so he probably heard me coming. I gave him a hand, one hand, not two. Part I. of X. part payback.

Sorry I missed the fun...I ACTUALLY got some work done. Ready to top of fluids, batteries are charged and ready for install, and depending on my motor situation, may start some final sanding to pass the time .

Default Great Day!

It was a superb day for the ride, and as it turns out, I had a few rain drops around 5:00PM in Alpharettaville, but that was the extent of it.

Great to see you all again, and the cars all performed very well.

SVO Bud and Chill---sorry, did not know you guys were stopping for lunch---the One Star BBQ is a great place, and probably only about 3 miles from my house.

As Chill noted in the picture, all it took for my wife was to see Tony go behind that abandoned gas station for a restroom break, and she followed suit---hey, if nature calls, thou must answer.

Anyway, fall is quickly approaching, and these rides will be all the better...

Isn't it great when Harley riders give us the thumbs up

Charlie

Glad you guys had fun and sorry I missed it. I did get some work done and if TC could bend over he would have seen that all of the work is under the car. He seems to have forgotten what life is like without a lift it takes much time to jack these puppies up in two inch lifts and squirm around on your back. All I need now is a puller to get the harmonic damper off, you can't pull them off with your hands or beat them off with a hammer .

Chill did you only take 3 pictures - did your digital run out of film ?

Randy

Randy, you wimp, I usually just grab the harmonic balancer and lean back. What's the problem?

Part 2 of 10.

I could use the considerable heft from one TC, however his massive forearms are trained to push rather than pull I will give him a call when it's time to push the harmonic damper back on

I know TC is hard at work on the Kirkham - making practice holes . That car is going to be a true light weight if he keeps removing metal and replacing it with air.

Randy

Volly one - incoming

Nope, same reason they don't show the in-car on the first place car.... not much to see ahead but open road... or in our case that white pickup...

I tried some 'over the back' pictures, and 'mirror' shots... got some nice shots of my rollbar!! Next time I will drop to the back and get more of the group.
