Anyone going to Austell Saturday?
Just though this one needed a fresh start.... Alex was doing such a good job of advance planning with the original thread and we walked all over him
I'm "iffy" at best for Saturday so I have not registered to show the car yet, but depending on my state of balance - emotional or mechanical ... I may drop into the show Saturday afternoon.
....and now a translation so Randy can hear it:
ANYONE GOING TO AUSTELL ON SATURDAY???

Where is Austell? Is that over in Cobb, or over in Gwinnett?

I also went out this afternoon and got some white flag material at the fabric shop and some heat transfer paper to see if I can make an ACC flag to hang but the lead cobra needs to fly it on the way in to the show. Thats if we are meeting to caravan. Whos volunteering to be lead cobra??
I also talked to the promoter we can reg at the door. He also said to come early to scope out a place on the grass. He likes cobras. So maybe we can go over in my truck early set up the awning chairs etc and block off some space then do our caravan. Soooo we need a head count guys

Austell Car Show
I'm a solid (85%) maybe at this point
I threw my back out of whack, so don't know if I can even climb in the car at this point. I'm treating the pain with muscle relaxers and stiff cocktails
I'll give a go/no go by Friday afternoon.

I'll be there. I've spoken offline with two others that are coming as well. One said he wouldn't be there until 4pm though.
Did anyone want to meet up at the intersection of South Cobb and East/West Connector and go in as a group?

I am a lazy ass moderator so I need to ask... When is it on Sat? Wifey poo has me cooking freaking BBQ late in the day, and if it is REAL BBQ, we are talking all day.
1. Can I be the lead 'stang? It's the only thing that runs
2. I guarantee I have been in that general area, but I was probably lost---keep your cell phones on .
4. BigEasy, I got just the thing for your back, just need to fix the hickory handle, but it may need another person to pick it up for the "adjustment". Or, I can walk on it and it will either be REALLY really well, or well, who knows. All insurance policies welcome here!!
5. Alex, sold those Green-lees on Ebay, dude, they are like gold . I will bring some of the cash if I go . Thank you for letting me borrow them. My Cobra is MUCH lighter now .

And thanks for the use of the hickory stick--I need something. Anyone have one of those inversion do-hickeys, where you can upside like a bat

TC, what time do you want this open grill whore to show up ? Can I assume you are having "non car types" (wifes friends) over ? Sounds like you need some backup. When my wife has her boring friends over, I hide in the garage. If any of the wifes friends come down there I threaten to kick their asses, and worse if they tell. Usually it's a quiet dinner and they leave early.
I could come over and give you a hand keeping them under control.....
If I drive to Austell, I hope somebody else is there....

Alex, Saturday is my 23rd anniversary. Gloria asked me a couple of times what I had planned for Saturday. It felt like a set up. My car is supposed to go in for surgery at Southern next week. Since she may be down for a while, it probably makes sense for me to go on a final ride over the weekend. Anyone have any plans other than Austell?

My intent was to drive over and visit with you guys, however I had a little surgery today and will need to pass.
You older guys that have spent a lot of time in the sun (Alex ) need to keep a keen eye for little what-ca-ma-call-its that pop up. I found one in my ear and the end result was the removal of a goodly portion of my ear.
The good news was the doctor was a fabricator with exceptional skills. He did such a good job fabricating a replacement that I had him do the other ear to keep my handsome mug balanced As you can see from the attached photo they match The minor swelling should go away within a few months . Have fun tomorrow and stay outa the sun under the tent or in TC's rather large shadow.

drip drip drip
After I drain the water out of the car from the Friday afternoon deluge... I plan to run out to Austel early afternoon... Not sure where it is, but I've got Alex's number.
At lunch, I went to Southern to get my car back after minor surgery to replace my harmonic balancer and it's 1500 mile service. Instead of taking it (and me) home ...decided to go back to the office.. bad decision, since I walked into a mess. I was pulled into a meeting but all I could hear was the rain, not sure what we decided...
I ended up tucking the car away in the covered garage (Alex's building?)and got it after dinner.

Austell;
Well guys, I'm still questionable. Can't hardly stand up straight, so I look one of those silverback gorillas trudging along Not a pretty sight.
I'll have to play it by ear tomorrow Sorry for the non-commital attitude, but I'll get there if I can.
Chill---sorry to hear you initiated your interior!!
Randy---I guess you can hear now
I feel like most of the rest of you---don't think I've ever been to Austell

It was raining so hard when I got downstairs, and had been, I just watched until the storm passed a few minutes later. Carpet was wet, but I had large enough drain holes to not have any accumulate.
...I was standing next to someone in the office who had left the sunroof on her Jag WIDE open... I think I fared better and most of it dried out on the drive home tonight... good heater!!
hows the ear?
.. I mean HOWS THE EAR?
