Default Pictures from Pigeon Forge

Just back from the Unique Motorcars annual trip to Pigeon Forge for Shades of the Past. Amazing. I could not even guess how many cars were there. Along both sides of the street were thousands of custom cars, street rods, classics... some REAL nice cars!!!

At the actual show, there were UNBELIEVABLE!!! cars as far as you could see.

Unique had 18 people bring their Cobras to the show and we lined them up along the road where there was a constant flow of spectators. A good group of people and a nice group of cars.

I drove the Cobra both ways... awesome ride through the mountains... leaving for Pigeon Forge around 5am Friday.

Saturday morning several of us were up early again for breakfast and mountain run...

Excellent time, fun roads and the car ran great!

Chill,

Nice bunch of the FIA's. I think the boys from Georgia are on to something.

Yo Clyde, great pics. I didn't realize you were driving the little blue car up there. That had to be awesome! I'm putting mine in the McDonough hospital tomorrow. I'm dying to get it over with. Were there some spectacular cars in the lot?

Thanks for the pics Clyde, now I'm really sorry I couldn't make it.

If the weather is good for the rest of the month I will be cruising the north GA mountains in the Cobra as we take in Eric's fall baseball games.

Anybody want to join us on the cruise part or the baseball drop me an email. We plan a weekend trip the 25th - 27th as we bounce from Dalonega - Cleveland - Blairsville.

Clyde,

Thanks for posting the pics. You should be commended for making the drive both ways. Once you get the car wet, it's no big deal thereafter .

As I was driving to my sister's wedding in Calhoun on Sunday, I saw a few nice rods heading back to Atlanta, in the RAIN (bummer). Saturday's weather was awesome.

Looks like I missed a great event with some great folks. That's okay... my sister's wedding went great (pics in my album if anyone's interested).

How was the shrimp boil? I would've gone just for the shrimp alone!

The shrimp were great and I will post a few sample HotRods. I would not have traded the drive through the mountains both ways for anything. As I passed a few nice cars on trailers, I looked over and could see the look on the driver's faces were a bit envious.

I especially enjoyed riding along with a few packs of bikers, they got a kick out of the car and I would lean over and hold my ear like I couldn't hear them... got a laugh and 'rev' every time...

We spent 2 hours going through vendors and barely spent time at any. Can't imagine how I missed their truck with that description... ... but I don't recall it. I saw alot of Rod builders, might have seen them but in the heat it didn't register...

I also saw some wierdo with a '32 with a hemi:

How he got that exhaust to fit is beyond me. Looks like a really well done streetrod. Note the throttle rod exiting the firewall. Well done.

Default Pigeon Forge, Awesome!

Hey guys, I really enjoyed the trip again to 'Shades of the Past'. The Unique gang is great and we really have a good time. The best part is the drive through the Smokey Mountain National Park on the way to breakfest on Friday and Saturday. It's a Cobra delight in 66 dgree weather with the top down at 7:30 AM.

This was my fourth trip and I paln to go again next year, already have the reservation a year in-advance.
