Atlanta Historic Races
I haven't heard mention of anyone going out this weekend. My wife and I are commited to making it on Saturday (babysitter and all lined up) all the way from Augusta and staying somewhere Saturday night. Is there anyone in Atlanta that could hook me up with some "special" passes for the race. I think I'm going to have to buy them at the gate if I don't find someone who has some to sell.
Any help appreciated. Buddies, pals, anyone........;). John |
Jay, I am not yet 100% on running yet, but if I do, tell them you are crew for me. Keith will get you my name [Sorry, I am ultra internet sensitive with names]. Also, Johan will be there, but his "crew" is likely to be be full. Especially with what he runs, he needs extra ;) .

I appreciate that TC.
I'll look for you there. Is there any kind of car show running concurent with the race? |
Jay, the pits are a carshow in effect. No "formal" car show is done here. As an FYI, I pulled the revised schedule and my run group has so little track time, I have pulled the plug on actually racing. I will up there however playing with my new camera.

John,
This was discussed somewhat in the random thread "September Ride". I do plan on going sometime, but not sure when. My daughter has a ballgame Saturday morning, so will probably go up after that. I'll either be in the Cobra or my Polaris 500 not sure which. DC |
Any hints on which gate to go to, how to get in the paddock, etc. I've never been to Road Atlanta. If it gets too wordy email me the inside scoop.
Thanks, John (why does everyone call me Jay?) |
John, I wasn't talking to you. :D For some reason, I say to self j-haynie, and figure we'd make it Jay--just kidding. With the AC Cobra cast of characters, it will likely stick! :)
The will likely only be one gate open for the event, and the sign-in will likely in a shed in back of the main Road Atlanta buildings. I am sure it will be well marked. You will porbably need to "register" at that shed, and then proceed to the infield, or park near the Road Atlanta buildings and then walk into the pits. I believe only HSR members get the pit parking pass as the pits are a zoo. |
