Default Now it's getting reeeeaaal close!

Spent the day down at Southern Automotive. I delivered the rest of my engine parts to Lewis and John. Bottom end is finished now that the oil pan is back from Performance Coatings. John mounted my BG monster on the intake and the heads are getting freshened up. I think we're on the home stretch.

I did get to witness a couple of dyno pulls on a 900 HP drag motor. Impresive. I also have a truck full of intake manifolds to deliver to Marcelino at Best Metal Polishers. I call it a fun day.

Did you have to drive down there since they weren't taking your calls anymore? Tony, how you got them to do this that quick is beyond me??

I got diff and tranny filled up, although filling the tranny before mounting may have been a mistake. Got Bellhousing, clutchfork, slave, starter and all that back together after grinding so they fit. Next up is fluid fill for fuel pressure line from guage to isolator. Then MSD box mounting and wiring . May even sand the exhaust tonight.

Mike, the trick is to order ONE engine at a time. Actually, it seems like an awfully long time since I became Cobraless. If I wasn't screwing around with all of these cosmetic upgrades, it probably would have been finished a week ago. In reality, I think the thought of dropping my chrome motor into a Cobra is giving Bill a rash.

BB, they charge $150-185 depending on how complicated a job it is. My Vic. Jr. was $185 because of the hard to reach area below the plenum and runners. I paid them $10 to remove "Edelbrock" from the factory-polished water pump. I didn't realize they repolished the whole thing until I compared it to another factory unit today. Best Metal Polishing does exellent work.

TC - you might want to drain that tranny before install. If is like most when tilted with engine for install you'll be creating art on that beautiful floor of yours.

TC the tranny shouldn't leak out of the rear seal. If it does it's better to find out now rather than after you park on a hill

Guys, I actually borrowed the special tranny butt plug for the rear ofthe nny so I CAN install it filled. Randy it WILL leak otherwise...don't ask how I know . Could have used the extra tranny lube for the last job you "advised" me on /

I guess its no wonder that my thread about copping wood over a chrome motor could degrade into mental images of Sphincter-related accessories.
