P.S. if you hear loud banging, scraping, clanging, and large machinery noises tonight, give it no thought. I am short a few plates.

Are you trying to make bullet-proof doors? Good grief, what part of town do you live in?

I'm actually making a "welding workbench" out of the plate, so that the big table top is grounded to the welder, and anything laying on the bench can be welded and worked on without having to be clamped. My first project will be roll around "hospital gurneys" for the Lolas.
Hey TC, got that thing running yet ? Give us an update !

Keep TC away from that table, Johan... anything he works on will end up welded to the table\...

That's the whole point....
Just stick stuff to the table(like headers) and work on/build it, then cut it off and grind down the marks. The problem is when the table gets hot, it smells like burning crap, not that I actually know what burning crap smells like, which I do NOT.

Yep,
That is actually the procedure I used for my pipes. I have a fold up welding table for use just like John mentions.

Those look awesome, what color/coating are you going to do them ?
Also, looks like I'll be rolling up in Dawsonville by the latter part of the week, let's head up there as a cruise and try the cars out on the runway ....?
