Thanks Randy. We got motor and tranny bolted down tonight. No comes driveshaft measurement and fabrication, and the dreaded cutouts for the exhaust holes .

I guess I sat by the phone all night nfor nothing. I bought some Ice cream for you guys to enjoy, but now it is pretty much melted. I would have been happy to come over and help out.
If it was the Flinstones remarks , I was refering to the car with no engine, not the fact that you look like Fred F.

TC no problem on the holes we just need more 2x4's, a bigger hammer, another floor jack, case of beer, jug of rum.

We take the lumber and build bleachers to sit in, drink the beer and use the rum to bribe Ron to do the holes while we watch. I think he can do anything with a floor jack and hammer.

Randy, you had to see the look on his face on Sunday as we started dropping that puppy in. A moment I will treasure forever. Now that you have met him, you know he is one who has pretty much done it all. It was a look of confidence and slight panic as he is looking at me (myself with about 60% confidence and total panic on my face I am sure). Then there is ME controlling the engine hoist, which is on or off it seems . We persevered. I just got back in from drooling in the garage. I have had more fun not driving it and building it than anything I can remember. Thanks again.

Time to start driving again . For any of you doing this at home, the Vanity plate "TIGHT" is very fitting.

I love that look - shirts that fit like panty hose

We (Ron and I) enjoyed watching TC sweat like a whore in church. It's also fun seeing someone else ( chill and cracker do it too) look at a bolt try to figure out what size wrench is needed, give up and go get six to eight wrenches with the hope that one will fit. Before long TC had every tool he owns on the floor next to the car

beautiful.... I wish I could have been there just to know that it's not just me with tool-selection issues....

...of course I prefer lying under the car and have my kids bring the wrenches one at a time....

...3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 11mm, 12mm, 13mm.... hell, bring me the CHANNELLOCKS!!

I have some comebacks, but it may start a 20 page BB vs. SB thread , and I don't like to pic on people for lack of size .

I made serious progress today (after work of course) on the install. I am actually at the point where I need to clean up the garage so I can find the remaining parts I need for the install that I bought about 6 months ago Big things left are the @#$$%$ exhaust, and the driveshaft...and clean the sweat drip oxidation off the body . Little things are to clean up wiring, do battery wiring for parallel setup, tighten oil cooler lines, brake fluid crap/bleeding.

You have one month to finish up. We all expect to see the beast on Nov. 7th flying down the track. Let me know if you need any help - I'll send chill and cracker over

Mike, I have my fingers crossed that I will be able to cruise to McDonough on Friday and help John put the new Christmas tree ornament back in my car. If you happen to be in the neighborhood.... That llittle SB should be a "piece-o-cake compared to your monster.

Tony I am planning to take Friday off and might be able to give you a hand. I was going to adjust my valves but that can wait if you need help. We need your car running by the 7th as well.

Randy, sounds good to me (assuming Lewis is able to get the motor back together by then). I'll call him this morning and see how things are going.

Have you considered going with a rear exit exhaust TC ? I was looking at one in a book last night and it looks great from the back of the car, plus with a "Dr. Gas" cross ocer, it will sound like a real screamer. What if your hand slips or you have a seizure while cutting the holes, or "Fireball Crace" bumps into you like Chief Inspector Cleauso ?

John, the nice thing about the side pipes is extra ground clearance. Undercar would drag worse than on that parts car you sold me.

Ground clearance at a cost - snake bites on your legs I'm taking Friday off if you need any help, if not I may go over to check out your street rod.

I need to head over there as well and pay them...AGAIN I was there today, some of the chrome came back and they were bolting up goodies to the painted frame. I AM INSANE for doing two builds in parallel.
