DC,

You will see it. My New Year's resolution was to get it done in 2005 (two thousand and five).

TC, any way Tony and I can look at your KMP this week ? Tony is ready to scratch a check, but wants to see one first.

TC,I hope you have kept good notes on the KMP build.I would prefer not to repeat any problems you may have had but then again what fun would it be to get it right the first time. chuck

Johan,

thursday PM at best if it is this week. As you know, my travel schedule this week is frightening, or maybe Sunday PM upon my return. Just tell him to write the check.

Chuck, why don't you wait 'til Toymolester is done with the car before gettin' the notes. You'll be all set to start your project in the spring.....of 2005!

Made some progress today. Got the right side exhaust tabs and hanger all welded up. Did final trim out of right side exhaust hole. Welded left side hanger on. Now need to do final trim out on left side hole, weld tabs on left side collector, and remount so I can weld tabs onto header pipes hands free. then remove all again, sand, paint, reinstall. Pretty much last BIG hurdle almost done with. Then reinstall steering shaft, heat shields, inner fender panel, etc. etc. etc.

Whoa TC slow down - at this pace you will finish before fall and we won't have anything to talk about.

I wondered what caused the power brownout - little did I know it was the welder from hell firing up

Wanna come show me how to sand my exhaust? I figure:

1. It's been about a year since you probably sanded any metal and I'd hate for you to get rusty at it ...as well as my exhaust as it awaits paint.
2. With your experience, I need to observe a master at it.
3. You show me, and I'll watch and take notes.

Actually GS, with this weather, it is tough to even think about driving a topless car. What a lousy winter . I did ride 250 miles yesterday (had the day off as I had planned to maybe do SAAC in Vegas) and it seemed to be the recreation I needed since I am sans self-propelled replica. Is yours on stands, or tires?

Randy, you still have any of that Rust-o-leum you used on your pipes? think you could lend it to TC? ...although I'd hate to see him get done too soon, seems like only the last year or so that he got started on this build....

I have several cans left. I bought extra knowing that you would spill brake fluid all over my headers

I still have some brake fluid left over, maybe I should take it over to TCs so we can drain ( I mean bleed) his brakes after we finish painting...

How could you possibly have any left after the amount you spilled

Chill - Glad to know I'm not the only one... And what a wonderful smell that makes on hot pipes, huh?

TC - What's your status on the KMP?

Is it just me, or has this winter been about 15 degrees colder than last winter? I haven't done one single thing to the Cobra in the past 2 months because it's just been miserable out there (yes, it's true: I'm so dam*ed cheap that I won't even heat the garage).

Keith, as a rookie southerner, I can attest that this is the worst darn winter I have been through. However, the northerners are saying the same thing--and they start 15-25 degrees lower than we do . My car is so close to being self propelled it is frightening. May back off a bit on my pace. I am trying to preserve my life before I drive this beast .

Ditto that with me and my garage that I'm building. When it is done, I will no longer have an excuse to work on it with my buddies.

Garage? I've seen smaller parking ramps....

Johan,
did you drop the dining room floor down yet to allow for the 'centerpiece' on the lift?

Keith,
My garage is heated, but I still can't drive around in it.... but I have seen one that you could....

OK, it is no longer the garage, it is " The Structure that refuses to cooperate"
I swear, next time I build something I'm going to use styrofoam, or something lighter. I have now found a new medium, sewer trench plates, to use as doors , floors, tables, etc.
You know, the big 5' X 10' jobs ya see in the street covering trenches..... I just drag them home and leave them in the street, they look perfectly natural stored there, until I'm ready to use them. The tricky part is filling in the holes that the plates were covering.
Anybody got any ideas ?
I've tried garbage , gravel, dirt, and water if it is really cold, but all have drawbacks...

Johan, I use 5x10 foot trench plates cut to size. Make sure you have a sharp saw though .
