Default ATL engine install today/volunteers

I know I have confirmed a volunteer from this forum for my engine install later today, and a friend who restores Mustangs. Could maybe use one more set of hands on top of the two I have coming. My thought was to shoot for late afternoon as I know Formula 1 is on, but I am thinking of taping it so I can watch it without the commercials .

Mike, I wish I wasn't so far away so I could help.
I'll be there in spirit.
BTW wish you luck and mash a finger for me too!

Boy is my timing good or what. I arrived late enough to be of no help and early enough to make Cracker feel late TC I'll be in town all next week so give me a call.

All that talk about tires and hooking up didn't seem to work when I left. That's the first time in a long time that has happened. Must be the cool temps

Well TC, pick up the phone and call. I didn't check the site till late. You could have saved me from all the yard work I did today. Hope everything went ok.

We are 90% there it seems. Missing tranny mount spacer may be what prevented complete install today. I need to lift motor anyway to reinstall alternator anyway. Also want to get some good Grade 8 bolts for motor.

DC, thanks, I figured it was a bit of a ride for you, but with today's weather, who cared, right? I was really hoping to put GeorgiaSnake to work--but again, strike 3 He must have forgotten about all the lifting of his body onto frame I did already . Never mind the darn 220 line install that still wakes me up at night .

We should be good by Tuesday and then I can hopefully measure for driveshaft. May just run open headers for a while so I can drive it in a week or so .

Earnie, at this rate, I couldn't even afford the one-way fare. I have spent half a ticket's worth on Grade 8 nuts and bolts alone in the last two days .

Sorry I missed all the fun! I just checked the board this evening and saw your message.

Good news is my wife (and I - she wouldn't do it without me) successfully completed the MSF class at the Honda Rider Education center this weekend (Fri-Sun). I HIGHLY recommend this class for anyone who hasn't done it - or if you have, as a base refresher. Great experience! Plan to take the advance class next year. Next purchase? ... a "matching" set of Harleys.

A certain someone qualifies 7th, weather get's bad (hint hint) and even with a bad/extra pit stop finishes 1st with a decisive lead. Set to win a world championship and set a record. Any questions.

Randy, remember, the big boys have launch control. The best is the neighbors all think it was me.

Spyderman, as your friend, I tell you "do not come over". I had 2 creditors and 1 repoman show up today looking for you. Seems they may read this board. One guy told me your wings were still warm at Hooters and he thinks he missed you by about 5-10 minutes. He was asking me what your Pinto was worth. I'm sorry, I am still laughing .

TC

Crackers motor sounds so hot because - he has no fluids in it

Chills motor sounds cool because it is covered with cleaner and wax

Yours should be somewhere in between. Which night should I show up to finish my task

Its not so much the wax on the motor as it is the polish on the inside of the pipes.... better flow, baby!!!

TC: Did I hear you need a hand Tuesday night? I'll try to call you on the cell...

Guys I apologize but I had PC issues and could not post since last night. Somehow Spyderman's post got everyone thinking tonight would be "further install" night . It is not.

The part I need should be here tomorrow. I will need to lift motor off mounts to install alternator bolt and alternator, and either remove stud, or grind corner of motor mounts, install tranny adaptor, and then set down motor. Motor will not need to come out. Any and all welcome. I have a Mustang buddy who lives 2 miles from here on deck, and GeorgiaSnake is on deck as well. No need for anyone to travel out of their way for this (Chris..that means you). Enjoyed meeting you at Southern yesterday as well and hope the change to a clutch slave works for you. Thanks for all the offers of help.
