Patrija - I'm a "little" embarrassed to admit this but if you have a small head like mine your welcome to use mine.

GS - no comment necessary!

Hector, how far is the Shiny Diner from I85? I can't find it on the map.

As you head north and get to the outlet stores, it's on the left (north) side of I-85. It's on the same side as the Nike store. It sits in the middle of their parking lot facing I-85 but you can't see it from the expressway, it sits back a bit.

Chiperb,

Thanks for the response & the tip. Can't wait to see your car... I just took a look @ the one in the classifieds section... The posts imply it may have sordid history AKA the "Spencer" car - seems a bit sketchy.
I have thought about a used 427, but I want to do a street look like ERA 561, but with a chrome hoop, in solid Volvo Atlantic Blue... (I hope that's kosher, since it Ford owns Volvo) It's just a nice dark pearl metalic blue. You know, no stripe, undercar exhaust, no hood scoop, & chrome bumpers... I'm just not sure if I could get the side exhaust holes covered and filled to where you couldn't tell. I may just have to go the new deluxe pallet route. In fact I'm pretty settled on your same engine.... Again, before I begin to ramble incessently, Thanks & I look forward to meeting you & the fellas. See ya'll Friday.

David

I have undercar exhausts plus no roll bar (per he street version). LOVE the under car exhaust: quieter AND no "Cobra Tatoos (burns!). Wife loves riding in it.

Will try to send you pics. It was the Miller Beer car, owned by the guy i Atlanta who owns Better Brands (Miller beer distributor-tus the color). Was supposed to be in 1992 Playboy mag. Has only 700 miles on it when I bought it-was a "trailer queen" to roll out, get your picture aken in it and back into the trailer. See you Fri eve-leving directly fm work in Snellville. cb

dd: please email me your email address and I will forward my pics. It is NOT the car I will be bringing Friday eve: no roll bar/no race.

There will be some excellent examples there friday night with the newer front ends (coil overs etc). Can always see mine here at the house at a later date. cb

Lightbulb Sorry to interrupt...

Friday meeting place suggestion: Mansell Rd. MARTA Park&Ride lot..... right off 400, easy off and on... 3pm ish...

I plan to drive the Cobra to work Friday and the 3pm departure seems possible...

...as far as route north, if I were trying to get to 85 from my office I'd go Old Milton (exit 10) across Kimball Bridge, Jones Bridge, McGinnis Ferry and enter 85 on Lawrenceville Suwanee....just before the 985 split... just a thought...

...No Northern GA roads will be good, but that route at least moves better than 400 and 20...

OK - I'm in for the change as well. MANSELL MARTA PARKING LOT AT 3:15 with a 3:30 departure time.

GS - I'll be with trailer! Now I can try that 2nd gear launch with peace of mind - but not right away!

Is everyone meeting at Shiny Diner? Folks in Gwinnett County area, does anyone want to meet up off I-85 around the same time as the Roswell gang will be in the area (4:30is)? Maybe Hamilton Mill exit? That's the exit around 10 miles north of the 985 split.

Hey, nothing like going to South Carolina via Alabama! By the way, how did we end regarding helmets?

Thumbs up

Tony, the meeting at Hamilton Mills exit sounds good. I think there is a Publix there that we could meet at. Let me know if 4:30 / 4:45 works for you.

Hector, sounds good. I've got your mobile number in the event I run into an unexpected problem. I'm planning on leaving a bit early and heading home to get the little red car. I live very near that Publix. I think that's where you, David Valdez and I met the last time we went to the drag strip. My mobile number is 770 329-7122. Chiperb is coming from Snellville.

If its OK my son and I want to come and meet you fellas. We are new to Georgia, and with my wife and daughter still in Ohio we need as much diversion as possible to combat homesickness.
Problem is I hardly know where I am let lone know how to get to the track, if someone could give me general directions to the track from where I am now in the big city of Dublin, I would appriciate it.
I might have talked to some of you that have attended any of the SpringFlings. Look forward to meeting each of you. Rex

Rex, you're a bit out of the way. The fastest route would be for you to come up I75 to Atlanta, take 675 north of McDonough over to I285, on up to I85(towards Greenville, SC) to Commerce. Commerce is an hour or so up 85 from the I285/I85 intersection (Spagetti Junction) or two hours between the hours of 4 and 7PM. Take exit 147, go left back over the interstate and look for an Atlanta Dragway sign on the right approximately 1/2 - 3/4 mile. Turn right on the two-lane road and go approximately 2 miles and you will see the track on the left (can't miss it). Gates open at 6PM. If you got up to the next exit (149), there are many shops (Tanger outlet mall and dozens of shops and resturaunts etc. Some of us will be meeting at the Shiny Diner (the place with all the Cobras parket out front). Look forward to meeting you.
