Default anyone wanna play hookie on Thur?

I was just looking at the weather ... Thur is suppose to be SUNNY and in the upper 50s to low 60s - 10% chance of rain. Anyone want to take a Cobra cruise after lunch?

I do! I do! Man, if I only could...

Instead, I get to see the dentist Thurs morning (oh joy) and spend the rest of the day playing catch-up.

Man, I wish I could as well. I had a heat pump and big screen TV go out at the same time. This is "fix Tony's stuff" week.

SVOBUD - I need to run up to Robinson Racing in Cumming to see if they can fabricate something for my Weber assembly. If your into a little drive let me know and we can meet and run around together. I need to put some miles on this motor as I'm finally in the fine tuning stage! Call me on my cell if you want to do the trip. I would be available sometime after 2:00.

Tony,

I always get stuff fabricated as well when I am fine tuning carbs. Those guys who just use screwdrivers at the end must be missing something .

Thanks Tony .. but that's little too far for me to drive over to with the limited daylight (and warmth) for the day. I think I'll head up to Red Top Mtn area and puter around a bit - probably eat lunch in Kennesaw.

You should send a shout out to Jeff Neely. He's an ERA owner and lives in Kennesaw. Search for him on the site. His name is his handle, if memory serves.

hmmm ... thanks Keith. I've been trying to figure out who the guy was. I knew there's one that runs around town from time to time (other than Dave Crace) .... I've never seen the car, but other Officers were telling me about him. Does his car have a meatballs on it?

Cracker what are you having fabricated? All you need is windshield wipers to knock the raw gas off the windshield. Are you going high tech with some trick gizzmo that makes the fuel flow down into the carb instead out the top

GS - I just got off the phone with Pierce Manifolds in CA and the problem is simply too much airflow over the stacks. If you look at the 289 Cobra's with Webers they run a filter/reducer in the hood scoop which solves this problem. Ferrari's use a little aluminum wall which I'm having fabricating later today. I have them tuned and they idle at 1,000 and spin the tires through 5K rpm's.

What a glorious day. Drove home the long way from work with no top, got to hear the exhaust pitch gently change as I glided through the curves. Steering inputs were crisp, light, and positive, and instantaneous for a road car. Car hugged the corners as I climbed the hill from the Chattahoochee River on winding Roswell Rd. Sun actually gave enough warmth to overcome the 55 degree and 55mph wind in my hair. Spring is near. Boy these Alfas are great fun

Suppose to be 69 degrees here tomorrow... zero % chance of rain... mostly sunny... I'm startin' to feel a stomach virus coming on...

If I could handle the 29-degree drive to work, the drive home would be a real treat. Today was way too nice to have an office job.

Yeah, Come on!!!!!!!!! Great day. Even if you wussies chose to work! I actually didn't play hookie - it was a regular rotation day off... and man it was nice. I struggled to get up before Noon (working 12 hr nights suck) .. but once the sunshine hit me as I pulled out of the garage at 1pm .. it was all worth. I actually just got home about 8:30pm ... as I had a dept related meeting. I figured since I was already out and about, why not just hang with the Cobra .. good thing I took a jacket and beenie for the ride home.

Saw a new Porsche Carrera owner out driving .. he waved, but didn't want to play . Harleys everywhere! Some kid in a Chevy Z24 Cavalier did a "fly by" ... . Stopped in and talked a bit with a Shell Valley owner in Kennesaw. He was talking about selling his car until he saw mine .. now he says he's modivated to get it back out and drive some more.

Then .. as I was getting strapped in to head home, some chucklehead walks up and asked me, "is it real or a kit?" I replied back with my standard, "do I look like someone who drives a $350,000 car?" - then he makes an even more stupid remark than before .. with a smart alect tone to this voice, "oh, I don't know .. I know alot of people in Fulton Co who own real ones and they drive them all the time." .. I gave him my "you're an idiot" stare for a few moments and said, "Mister .. there were only 1000 original Cobras made in the mid-60s, there's not a BUNCH of them IN the greater Atlanta area, and the few that are around here that are Originals .. aren't driven on the street on a regular basis." .. He tried to change the subject to SCCA racing and I fired the engine up and left. Always one in a crowd I guess.
